Due to parking constraints and the desire to relocate the current off-site Lower School to their main campus, Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Preparatory School engaged Smith Boland Architects and Foresite Group (civil engineer) to design a multi-phased master plan to meet the many needs of the church and school. The design team took advantage of the steep sloped site in order to minimize the visual impact of the proposed development from the residential properties that surround the site.   A proposed two-story parking deck capped with a large artificially surfaced playfield provides the increased parking for the church and school as well as an outdoor recreation area for the students. The parking deck was placed in a central location on the site, downhill and out of view from the neighbors and adjacent to the proposed 3-story Lower School building and the future recreation/performing arts building. The master plan also calls for the addition of future buildings to serve the parish needs as well as a stormwater detention facility to be located under the renovated track and soccer field.
