Cobb County School System commissioned a new 9th grade center, additions to Orchestra & Choral Rehearsal spaces, two new circulation stairs that connect all levels of the school, addition & renovation to the Cafeteria and media center, and a new covered walk connecting the bus stop to the High School buildings.

The 9th Grade Center was designed to be separated from the rest of the High School. The new 3-story 95,566 sf building included its own cafeteria, kitchen, administration, classrooms, science labs, computer labs, clinic, and quad. The quad is a shared sunken courtyard that is between the 9th Grade Center, Band Building and the Existing High School to create a sense of a campus for the school. The quad, High School, and 9th Grade Center are connected together with a covered canopy that also provides access to the bus drop-off and pick-up area.

The existing 3-story high school had poor connects between the different floor levels. The additions and renovations included two new circulation stairs connecting the different building stories. An addition was added to the Cafeteria with an exterior plaza for outdoor dining. The Kitchen and media center were also included in the 37,300 sf addition and renovation to the school. A new covered entrance canopy was added to the main entrance of the school as well as the covered walk canopy that connects to the quad, bus drop-off/pick-up, and the 9th Grade Center.

The 14,451 sf addition of the orchestra and choral rehearsal spaces were an addition to an existing 9,151 sf band building. This building is separated from the high school and the 9th grade center by the newly designed quad. A new stair and elevator were added to the building circulation to allow for easier access to the buildings floor levels as well as the quad level of the campus.
