Smith Boland Architects was commissioned to study the addition of a Columbarium Garden to an existing Catholic Church campus in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. The location on the existing campus is adjacent to an existing Memorial Garden, that due to the steep topography, was not and could not be made handicap accessible. The solution includes the addition of two stone walls that each contain 450 burial niches in a transition area between the existing parking lot and Memorial Garden. This location provides a private buffer and new entry to the existing Memorial Garden.
