San Felipe De Jesus Catholic Mission commissioned Smith Boland Architects to design a Master Plan for their rapidly growing parish community. The existing campus is that of Spanish Colonial Revival Style architecture. The proposed Parish Hall and Classrooms, Gymnasium, Chapel, Rectory and Clinic were designed to mimic the existing architectural style.
Driven by the narrow plot of land most recently acquired by the mission, it was important to provide seamless connectivity between the north and south end of the site. The limitations of the site boundaries forced the Gymnasium and Parish Hall into an ‘L’ shaped configuration justified to the west side of the site. The Master Plan is broken into 4 phases. Phase 1 includes renovations to the existing Church, a new Parish Hall, Classrooms, Kitchen, Lobby, Bookstore and the campus site work in its entirety. Phase 2 includes a new 50 person Chapel. Phase 3 includes a new Gymnasium with indoor soccer and concessions. Phase 4 includes a new Health Clinic.
